Bagna Calda Recipe

As winter chill sets in, this is a stinky way to warm up a meal. Yum! This recipe is from “The Stinking Cookbook,” Copyright 1994 by Jerry Dal Bozzo. Reprinted with permission. “The Stinking Cookbook” is available from The Stinking Rose Restaurant in North Beach.
Bagna Calda is an Italian fondue. Great with fresh sourdough bread or veggies. Serves 6.
Ingredients:
- 1 and 1/2 cups peeled garlic cloves
- 1 and 1/2 cups extra virgin olive oil
- 2 oz butter
- 1 can (2 oz.) anchovies
Preparation:
1. Place all ingredients in oven casserole, cover and place in 275 oven for 1 and 1/2 hours.
2. Serve with bread and cut up vegetables.
